George.Painting is a family owned and operated business. We’ve been providing painting services since 1972, and we’re proud to be a trusted name in the Newcastle region.  

We’re now operated by George – a third generation painter. It was George’s grandfather who started George.Painting in 1972, proudly naming the business after his eldest son. 

For decades, the business was run by the father and his sons, before it was passed onto George to continue the legacy. While the reins have changed hands, George.Painting has remained committed to exceptional service.

Clean fresh paint after two weeks

Once fresh paint has dried for 2 weeks, use a soft cloth and warm, soapy water to wipe down the surface. This removes any dust that has settled which could discolour the fresh paint while it’s curing.

Use soap and water to wash surfaces

Most interior paints are washable. They can be cleaned with warm water and a mild soap (like hand soap). Avoid using scouring or scrubbing pads on paint – these are abrasive and may remove the protective paint layer.

Inspect the paint for defects

You should inspect the painted surfaces in your home for peeling, cracking, blistering and chalking. These are a sign that the paint is damaged or that it didn’t adhere properly. If the paintwork is fresh, it may be covered by a workmanship warranty.

Maintain areas exposed to sunlight

Sunlight can quickly damage your paint. Keep an eye on painted surfaces that receive lots of sunlight. These areas may need more paint maintenance than other parts of your home.

Clean scuffs and marks immediately

Scuffs marks and the drawings your kids leave on the walls should be cleaned as soon as possible to prevent staining. Warm, soapy water can be used to clean most marks. For issues like kids drawing on the walls with a marker, try wiping away the stain with isopropyl alcohol.
